Bible Verses About Joy
Something good happened and you want to tell someone. Or nothing much happened, and you feel quietly all right anyway. Joy isn't always loud — sometimes it's very quiet, and it doesn't always wait for the circumstances to deserve it.
Here are eight passages from the Bible about joy, gladness, and having something to celebrate. Some were written in the middle of a festival. Others were written by people whose circumstances were falling apart. We hope they help you hold on to the good days, and find a little happiness in the ones that aren't.
Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10
You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
Psalm 16:11
Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”
Philippians 4:4
I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.
John 15:11
